Utility, a design-led gifts and homeware retailer, were looking to make its physical stores match the quality and style of its successful online brand. We created welcoming, contemporary environments that elevate product, encourage browsing and reinforce Utility’s high-street presence.
We balanced aesthetics with retail practicality: steel-frame fixtures, birch-faced ply shelving and pegboard panels deliver strong display flexibility while keeping the look warm, simple and modern - so collections can change without redesigning the store.
A muted colour and material palette lets Utility’s colourful, design-forward products take centre stage and improves wayfinding and storytelling in compact footprints.
Working closely with the Utility team, we applied consistent design rules across roll-outs, protecting brand character while adapting to different units. The result is a coherent in-store experience that attracts footfall, supports merchandising changes and mirrors the brand’s online personality.
